The world of books is endless - especially when you have your favorite reading in your hand. Imagine - the staff is out of work, you can stay in the bookstore and have the good opportunity to read a book all night long comfortably and undisturbed, as long as your head gets heavy and you just fall asleep.
The sleeping cabins are behind the book shelves
No longer just a fantasy - if you are ever lucky enough to visit Tokyo or live in this city, you could afford such a night. Hostel "Book and bed Tokyo" is one of the best sellers there and offers this innovative and creative service. All book lovers are welcome to immerse themselves in the world of books until they fall asleep while reading. This special dorm is located on the seventh floor of a skyscraper, adjacent to Ikebukuro, just a minute from Ikebukuro Station. At first glance, the hostel looks like a trendy bookstore. A separate area in the room is equipped with modern bookshelves and from the other side there are comfortable upholstered sofas and cushions in sea blue. Cleverly, all sleeping places are hidden behind the shelves. These are compact bunk beds, more like the typical Japan capsule-like sleeping cabins. Each cabin has a ladder, mattress, pillow, reading light and power outlet. The hostel has a total capacity of 30 beds and the sleeping cabins are divided into two categories - Standard and Compact. The size of the standard cabins is 205 x 129 cm, and for the compact cabins - 205 x 85 cm. The hostel does not have a restaurant, but there is a cafeteria and a grocery store within a 2-minute walk of this property.
Hanging light bulbs, grilles and concrete on the ceiling are small accents of modern industrial design
The hostel offers a rich book collection of around 1,700 pieces. The readings are in English and Japanese, and have been selected by Shibuya Publishing & Sellers. This creative accommodation is run by two English-speaking Japanese. The very real desire of the owners is to increase the number of books to 3,000 pieces. You know, no book is actually sold.
