THE RULES

March's theme is Improving the Budget. The prize for March is $10 towards the Super Sweet Life Shop on Etsy which offers a budget planner printable kit for $10.

FIRST follow these women so you get updates and notifications about each month's theme and winner!

SECOND create your own personal goal under the theme Improving the Budget. Try to pick a challenge - something that you want to develop long-term. This could be a daily, weekly, or long-term goal. Examples are:
  • Balance checkbook every day
  • Limit spending to just groceries and gas all month
  • Download a new budget workbook and complete all month
  • Start budgeting with an online program all month (like Mint.com)
  • Read a few books by Dave Ramsey and use some of his budgeting resources
**If you did the project last month, you can repeat your previous goals as well - giving you MULTIPLE habit-forming goals!! There are enough lines on the goal tracker to do this for every month!**

THIRD print off the Goal Tracker and on MARCH 1 start tracking every day you work on this project!

OPTIONALLY link-up with us on March 7th and 21st! You can link up your goals, your tips and tricks, inspiration - or just how you are doing. Stop by any of these three hosts' blogs to see everyone's progress :).

LASTLY share a photo of your Goal Tracker on Instagram on MARCH 31 with the hashtag #IntentionalLifeProject. You will be qualified to win $10 towards the Super Sweet Life Shop on Etsy which offers a budget planner printable kit for $10!

Here is your goal tracker - so make sure you download it by March 1! There is also an example of how to fill it out. If you leave a comment with your goal - then we would love to encourage you this month! Have a great month!

It's v-day ya'll..Collier style

14 February 2014

Our marriage theme this week is understanding.

We're not super over-the-moon for celebrating Valentine's Day but I have been known to receive some killer gifts from Mr. Collier. For instance this little beauty.

He made me this framed photo art our first Valentine's Day and it proudly hangs just outside our bedroom. He took photos from our first three dates and made the collage. Receiving this gift sealed the deal and shortly thereafter I told him I loved him for the first time. This year, I've been working my tail off to complete my Ph.D. and Mr. Collier bought me something sparkly for Valentine's Day this year telling me how proud he is of me! Sweetness!!!

Here's a little 5 on Friday:

5- Two more weeks and my graduate career is through! HOORAY!!!!

4- I'm having a shopping date with my friend Mel to buy some new black heels this weekend.  I've colored in the scuffed places as much as I could have with black sharpie and now it is time to upgrade!

3-I bought a groupon for a manicure and pedicure to loosen up before my defense and I'm going to have cash in on that soon!

2- I got diamond earrings from Mr. Collier for Valentine's Day!

1- I'm heading to San Francisco on Wednesday. Any "must-dos" that you recommend during my two day stay [particularly places to eat]??

Sweetheart Swap for Galentine's Day

13 February 2014

Sweetheart Swap

I had such a fun time getting to know Casey, my sweetheart swap partner. AND she sent me the most amazing assortment of treats from her home state of Oregon!

Yes, bacon loaded caramels exist!...There were four before this picture was taken.

And I love them too especially these dark chocolate ones!!!

Slap Silly in Love

07 February 2014

Our theme this week is silly. Yup. Slap silly all up in here!
[but at least we are stinking cute about it]

Happy Friday friends!

5- I have 100 pages written of my dissertation and I am three weeks away from earning those three little letters for the second time in my life [get it? MRS. the first and now PhD].

4- I saw a mouse run through our kitchen two mornings ago. We caught him. But I can't get over thinking there are more waiting to appear....yuck!

3- I may or may not [but definitely am] getting loopy from all the work I have been doing. The "Tiny Toon Adventures" theme song may have come out of my mouth this morning!

2- I need socks. Like bad. From regular old white socks to dress socks especially are void in my life.

1- I am experiencing my first "lasts" at work. My last experiment, my last time putting gloves on, my last...etc.. you get it. AND IT IS GLORIOUS!

Marriage & Relationship Goals Link-up

03 February 2014

What is your position on Valentine's Day? Are you a lover or a hater?

In all truthfulness, I'm luke warm. Whereas I find myself wanting to feel all gushy about my main squeeze a.k.a. Mr. Collier, I find myself becoming one of "those people" who don't need a holiday to feel it let alone express it. Get what I'm sayin'??

Now having gone through the Love Dare and 5 Love Languages study, I now appreciate that Mr. Collier is a quality time sort of guy. Paradoxically [can you tell that I've been writing my dissertation much???] I haven't had much spare time as I'm wrapping up my doctoral studies culminating in my defense on Feb 27th.

So my monthly marriage goal will be to focus at least 30 minutes of quality listening during our quality time. Not focusing on what I want to say next in response to his stories, antidotes about his day, etc but rather listening intently to forge that connection.

What is your goal this month for your marriage?
