Top 5 Weekly Home DIY Pinterest Pins

03 July 2013

Happy 3rd of July! I hope that all of your plans are coming together on your potentially long weekend off! My plans are looking pretty normal. Lab, my parents might be driving through on THEIR WAY to vacation, and hanging out at home in the evenings. Pity Party of one?! Naw. Mr. Collier will be there too!

I considered going in a patriotic direction for the Top 5 Home DIY Pins of the week but I couldn't resist sharing these with you instead! I could not wait until next Wednesday!

Piano Shelving
Recyclart

I would love to have this piano shelving in my house! I think it beyond cool! I wonder how heavy it would be without all of the strings and hammers. Regardless, I've never seen any shelving that looks like this from a store!

Toy Frame

The concept of this frame is genius. Take all those random little toys that your kids are done with or that you played with and don't have the heart to get rid of and glue them to a frame to bring them one final glory day! The texture and memory combination make this a very interesting piece of art. Paint them any color that fits your palette. I personally like the glossy white because it brings out the tiny details of the toys. You cannot miss seeing that dinosaur or the cars.

Spray Painted Accent Ware
Shop Sweet Things

Shop Sweet Things has a step by step tutorial on how to give your inherited or just thrift store purchased porcelain items a facelift with some neon spray paint.

Frame Jewelry Holder

What a way to organize and display your treasures at the same time! Simply use frames with cushioney [might not be a word but just roll with it!] fabric as the drawers in a custom built shelving unit. Being horizontal, earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces stay in place. It reminds me of how I imagine jewelers walk around in the stores with precious pieces. I also love the gold frames instead with the lush colors of fabric.

Upcycled Garbage Can Lid and Mason Jar Chandelier
The Cozy Old Farmhouse

The Cozy Old Farmhouse featured this upcycled and rustic lighting option for your very own farmhouse. Basically taking the classic mason jar and an old metal garbage can lid, you can create this unique look.
